Booze and Blues Novigrad continues this month under auspices of carnival. Join us this Saturday at 10 PM on the second “Carnival Edition”, which will spice up group MusiCity Groove.

Group MusiCity Groove is made of experienced musicians from Pula, known for their actions including some other projects and musical styles. Their musical paths and cooperation crossed some time ago, so they didn’t have hard time to gather in this music project.

From the name of the band it is easy to recognise that they are oriented towards urban music and repertoire for which it can be said that it is primarily intended for “club” scene.

More specifically, it is a “groove” music, in fact the fusion of different stylistic genres with a strong rhythmic foundation that is influenced by funk. This includes many different styles of music like latin rock, soft jazz, funk rock, jazz fusion, soul, blues, performed on the unified stylish way. So MusiCity (Groove) is playing covers of famous songs, covered in their own arrangements and in the already mentioned “groove” variants, in a very personal coloured version. The repertoire consists of authors and performers such as C. Santana’s, Mr. Benson, Hebb’s, Sade, S. Wonder, P.W.Ellis…

Also group MusiCity (Groove) is working on the creation of albums, with their own copyright music that also has all mentioned characteristics.

On the instrumental side it should be emphasised that the flute is the main lead instrument, which is extremely rare in the performance of this type of music.
